Here is a list of key terminology you may come across while using the system. Understanding these terms will help you navigate the platform more effectively and carry out your tasks with confidence.

Janison Replay: Janison Replay (Replay) is Janison Insights’ online test delivery app, allowing test-takers to participate in digital exams. The resilience component of Replay means that the test player remains interactive through internet dropouts and disconnections, delivering a consistent and equitable test-taking experience, no matter how reliable or unreliable the network connection is.

Janison Insights: Janison Insights is a platform that delivers Selective High School (SHS) and Opportunity Class (OC) tests directly to students.

SEU: Selective Education Unit at the NSW Department of Education

JEM: Janison Exam Management. This team at Janison is responsible for managing and delivering test events.

Accessibility: This term refers to the ability of a student to access the test at the same level as their peers. It involves considering any necessary supports or adjustments to ensure equal opportunities for all students.

Invigilator: An individual responsible for supervising and administering the test. Invigilators ensure the integrity and efficient administration of the test process.

Student: Test candidates who are of school age

CBT: Computer-based test

SHS: Selective High School

OC: Opportunity Class

Reasonable Adjustments (RAs): Janison use the terms “accommodations” or “reasonable adjustments” to describe special approved test conditions provided to students with specific needs. These reasonable adjustments support a fair and equitable testing environment for all students.
